What Are the Self-Transforming Machine Elf?

And I just wonder if we could just talk a little bit about your theories regarding these, whatever you want to call them,. That Terrence McKenna famously called them self-transforming machine elves. She says they take various forms and can look like leprechauns or balls of material that are constantly forming themselves out of space.
