The Importance of Organization in a Working Society

I grew up in communist eastern Germany and eastern Germany had in some sense a very more or less perspective on how the world should be working. When I was 16 I couldn't see that even when the wall came down I was not just a liberal. Western Germany was an extremely unequal society compared to eastern Germany. Because nobody had any skin in the game there was no incentive for innovation. As a result we had always a shortage of labor. It was really not just that our country was an employment program, it was so efficiently organized that we couldn't get things done. Eventually that scared us and killed our economy.
