Santa Cruz, California - The Murder Capital of the World
In 19 65, the un versity of california opened an adjacent campus. It just blew up the hippy popa in santa cruz because it was a retirement and tourist community at the time. The reason why it was known as the murder capital of the world is because during the period of 19 70 to 19 73, there was a spate of murders. And it could be said that there is possibly some sort of cosmic balance here, the love of the hippy movement with the rise of sereal killers in the late sixties and earlis.
