Introduction

Halloween started 2000 years ago. Americans spend half a billion dollars on it just for their pets. More than a quarter of all Australians celebrate Halloween. The ancient Celtic people who lived there would celebrate the end of summer, the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter with a festival called Sowen. They would light big bonfires, dress up in costumes and tell each other their fortunes.
