There's that really funny sequence at the end in the prison where i's giving him, like, a list of different jobs he can do. And it's very kind of anti dekenzian in that sense, because you'd almost think at the end of this he winds up in prison,. You know, bartleby is the last column of a ruined temple, and he falls over. It will die with a whimper, not with a great bang. There's no humanity is dead. We live in this disciplinary society, and there's no hope.
