In 2018, you co-authored an article in the Journal of Strategic Studies that looked at Pakistan's military and intelligence communities. You found that the system has a certain level of professionalism and cohesion and stability to it. And even if there is disagreement among the upper echelon of officers, you very rarely see that command in the public. The Pakistani military doesn't really play games internally when it comes to who rises to the top.
