The Importance of Being Covered

Many years ago when I was young and fit I was out exercising before dawn. A few minutes later Kay spoke again in my mind. There's a man up here. Suddenly the dark hilltops seemed fraught with danger. But by now every nerve in my body was screaming for me to get out of there. It was no longer a casual morning jog. It was a sprint for my life. And as I fled I listened for any pursuers but I heard none. The next day my parents investigate outside the bathroom window and what they found still haunts me. Still can't shower even sleep without having every window in my house covered - that will never change.
