What does great management and leadership feel like to you?
With leaders and managers juggling their way through rapid change this year - the critical human skills and perspective shifting skill level of the manager is *so* important.
It reminds me a lot of the six thinking hats by Dr Edward De Bono where being cognitively flexible is the game!
I'm excited to introduce Marnie Jones to the Well Workplaces community.
Marnie Jones is the Director of Talent X - The People Agency - a hybrid of recruitment and consultancy that is a bottom up and top down approach to building overachieving teams.
Marnie started her career when she was 19. For 10 years she worked as a management consultant helping companies from $200k to $130m turnover get the most out of their businesses. At 23 she was the Head Consultant for a small boutique firm in Sydney where she managed a team of consultants.
She believes that these three things are the most important thing for developing high performance teams. Hiring reliable, overachieving employees. Designing and organising the team & its workflow and leveraging and retaining the staff through great management.
I'm really intrigued as to how Marnie got her early career thriving so quickly in the management consulting firm. In the discussion we will talk about how many organisations are trying hard to hire top talent right now, and how businesses can overcome any barriers.
We will discuss how managers can retain and improve team culture in the current climate. Finally I'm really interested in Marnie's 7 manager archetypes and how leaders can apply this to help optimise engagement, longevity and happiness of their team.
What manager Archetype are you?
