Supreme Court said that the solution for a problem, like Javier Alvarez, is not criminalization. He says counter speech can overcome the lie. If Congress were to pass a law tomorrow that criminalized political lying, I think the law would certainly be challenged in court. And it would run a pretty high risk of being considered unconstitutional punishment of free speech.
