The Effect of Raising the Minimum Wage on the American Worker

The longer you're out of work, the harder it is to get back into it. So there's any number of people out there who stopped working around about 2008 and remain out of work. The only people who are showing increases or at least remaining the same for participation rate are people without high school diplomas. With our well-meaning policies, we're ever more creating this divide between the labor markets faced by more educated, more skilled workers and the labor market faced by less educated, less skilled workers.
