The Importance of Team Science at the University of Michigan

The scientific environment for doing interdisciplinary science is really unparalleled at Michigan. I wasn't trained to be a researcher and some of the amazing training programs that we have now for junior faculty were not available when I was coming up. All of my success has been by adding faculty that bring different types of expertise different types of disciplines but some of the people in our group now are epidemiologists or they're trained in neuroscience all sorts of different disciplines data science.
