The Benefits of the NHS
I mean, it's been set up to fail. And then the government has far more control than people think it does on the performance of the NHS - they can make or break an NHS trust. The NHS is a benefit rather than a burden. If you kick it over to the private sector, then that's money that you're taking out of the economy for other things. So why not have the government just totally look after that and move those resources around? That's actually if the government do that, that's a free lunch for the private sector. It's a very effective way of getting people to support policies which are against their interest. But that's the key, isn't it
