When we're talking about the parent voice in this dynamic, we're not necessarily talking about our actual parents? No, it's part of you. Its an aspect of you, and it could have been informed by your family of origin. Culturally, our society will have a parent voice. Should, shouldn't, must, mustn't. Stews, don't. It doesn't mean that were think of our parents. That nurturing parent though, is not always positive either. There's a downside to that. And sometimes we will have had a nurturing parent, but that will have become suffocating or debilitating. These things all tend to manifest when we introject them and we swallow
