The Power of the Platforms

The early promise of the internet was a diversity of voices. Yet in some ways, the world seems more centralized than it was in the era of just two or three broadcast networks and a small number of newspapers. Why did we fall so short of those ideals? I think none of us, from whar i know under i didn't understand the power of calability when uses data is concerned.
