The Upheaval of Judith Murray

In 1779, the sergeants and some of Murray's other followers split away from Gloucester's first parish church. The independent Christian church is recognized as the first universalist congregation in North America. This was a huge social and religious upheaval. Judith didn't really approve of privateering from a moral standpoint,. But she generally supported the revolution, at least in an intellectual sense.
