Is Solomon the Successor to David's Empire?

Next in line would have been a son named adona, who i call donny becausese. First chronicles 29 and second, samuel 15 both have david promising that solomon would be king at his death due to a pronou ment that he previously made, but wasn't recorded. So as like, somebody was like, i think he said, like, one day when he was out and like, the gardens or something, that they were going to do this, but i'm not positive. I'm so i'm donny, this is what happened.
