Sugar and Addiction
Sugar is a very different chemical effect to alcohol. All of them can ferment into alcohols, not just ethanol in the body. It's all like sorbitol, zylitol. So I think a lot of people have problems with sugar in terms of pain and addiction because it does trigger a lot of the things that heroin triggers.
