The Evolution of Artificial Reef Technology

Gibraltar has created an artificial reef to deter illegal trawling. Fishermen from Spain protested last weekend and the Spanish government doesn't recognise Gibraltar's right to establish the reef. But what are these man-made reefs for? And how do they change marine life? I got the load down on these submarine structures from Bill Seaman, Emeritus Professor in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences and Bill Lindberg, a Satiate Professor in Marine Behavioral Ecology.
