The Danger of the Precautionary Principle
The idea is that people, the precautionary principle, often leads to a very conservative mindset. And so we have a predilection to seek out safety and we conflate safe with what has been - not necessarily true at all. The world prior to all of our innovations was, you know, very, very dangerous. That's why we didn't ban fire. We created fire departments, fire alarms, fire men and women, fire exits, etc.
