Alvar Nunez Cabeza De Vaca

Alvar Nunez Cabeza de Vaca was found guilty of mismanagement and usurping power. He spent five years in a penal colony in Africa before his sentence was commuted. In 1555, he would pen an expanded version of La Rele Chion detailing his time in Florida with the Narvai's expedition. Little is known about his final years; one source indicates he died poor while another said he was granted a pension by the King.
