David Large and Simon Mullen Appealed Their Convictions
David large and Simon Mullen were sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of Christopher Hartley. The judge said that the minimum term was appropriate before they could even be considered for release or parole. During the investigation over 70,000 pounds in cash was discovered at large his house and in his car. In May 2011 both men were back in court to appeal against their convictions. They claimed that the lack of any forensic evidence, witnesses or CCTV, combined with police corruption and errors by the judge had led to incorrect verdicts. Mrs Judge Rafferty, who heard the appeal with Lord Justice Richards and Judge David Pagett rejected the appeal on less than an hour and a half.
