How to Write a Systematic Operating Procedure (SOP)
When we're writing systems, we have to envision the ideal, but you have to be realistic. Closures know that this is something we don't practice very often because closers can sometimes be written in such a way that we think these are superhuman people. You won't write something unrealistic if you yourself know what it's like to work in the space. There's only so much time for somebody to do these things. How are you going to hold them accountable for something that's impossible? A step-by-step format is great for this. One, two, three, four, five might seem like a lot, but it's actually something that people will internalize.
