An illustration is always biased towards the subject even if you paint something that is quote unquote ugly so he's painting war zones and conflict areas. The act of bringing it out on paper forces the artist to find these things and to focus on these things. This this contrast is also interesting to me again with respect to information that a photograph captures everything equally but as an artist you are very consciously focusing on certain things like if you're drawing somebody quickly you might not have focused on their facial features but you focused on their coat or their shoes or something like that yeahor what they're doing.
