Using Edison's Electrical Equipment to Kill Dogs

Edison conducted dozens of experiments to test the difference between a c and d c electrocution. They even executed a calf at one point to get a better idea of what would be needed to execute a larger creature, such as a human being. Can you imagine if something happened like this to day nd? There would be primarily horror at the torture that was being inflicted upon these animals. Nobody seemd to be terribly concerned about the welfare of these dogs that were being killed.
