The Life and Times of Pisyshridis

Pisyshridis was known as a Dematic Cottatos, or a man concerned about the people. He cleared the Agora of private dwellings and turned them into public buildings. His program of public works also provided employment for the poorer citizens. The patronage of the arts emphasized the unity of Attica by reducing importance of local cults.
