Introduction
Shireen Nishat grew up in Gazvin, Iran, in the 1960s and 70s. Her parents wanted her to go to college in the US. In 1979, while she was thousands of miles away, the Islamic Revolution began. "I literally feel like I'm a different person," says Nishat.
