Loneliness is such an interesting and complicated problem. Nothing quite along the lines of pharmacology but far up in the future. We do know that there are areas of the brain that seem to activate differently, seem to connect to other parts of the brain differently when people are lonely. How about social robots to reduce loneliness? I think it's an interesting idea.
