Is There a Difference Between Single Mode and Multi Mode?
As speeds increase, there's a whole bunch of compromises that happen. Once you get to about 10 gigabits, we know how to do 10 giga bits. The newer optics are just slightly smaller at this point in time. They allow traffic around the outsides to go faster than outside traffic. It's more because of the precision of the optics.
