The Private Sector Is the Main Function of the State
Right now, the dominant a function of the private sector in terms of what we think of as policing activities is in protection. You can hire private security to protect your home or your business and so on. Lots of corporations have their own security with large numbers of security personnel. So if the state allows these individuals or these firms to engage in policing like activities, the priva sector will produce it. But it's something that people don't really notice.
