Pedarastic Relationships in Greek Poems

Some vase paintings show a man seated with an erection and a sexual partner either approaching or climbing onto his lap. The composition of these scenes is the same as that for depictions of women, mounting men who are seated and aroused for intercourse. Some scholars consider this a 4th type of pedarastic scene, other scholars believe it's heterosexual in nature. In one poem, the Megarin poet Theognes saw athletic nudity as a prelude to pedarasty.
