Synagogues - The Foundation of the Music That Herschev Composed

Nathaniel debt and isaac herstof spent their lives working in very culturally significant institutions that, in a way, i think, fostered their work. Why were synagogues so central to the music that he composed? Synagogue was where he acquired most of his musical training as a child and as a young man. A sense, herschev was a fine tenor singer. He was, in fact, offered a position with the carlrosa opera company, but he would have been unable to serve his congregation.
