Douglas and the American Anti Slavery Society
Slavery was officially abolished in britain and the british colonies in 18 33. British sympathizers purchased his freedom while he was there. He decided to move to rochester, new york, rather than boston because one of the increasingly he becomes a political abolitionist. Douglas made an anti slavery newspaper that was written and edited by african americans.
