The Importance of NATO East in the Cold War
In 1991 James Baker, the Secretary of State, made a commitment to Russia that NATO would not move one inch East of the East German border. The Russians are over here like, what are you talking about? Like we were in the room with you when you made that agreement. You just looked this in the eye and lied to us. And then it's just happened again and again and again.
