Bit Coin Mining - It's a Game
The more valuable bit coin becomes, the more secure its computing network tends to become. Miners through this game of it's a game. It's like a microcosm of capitalism in a way. They're competing to solve a mathematical puzzle and win the new bit coin that's issued with each new block. The energy that they're expending toward solving that puzzle is what's protecting the rule set in the network.
