The Dark Tower

The walker household on 130 sixth street was a central location for salons, for parties. The upper floors above the college in the salon, would become known as walker's studio. For one hot year, from october of 19 27 to 28, this would be the location of one of the hottest spots of the harlem renaissance called the dark tower. There were soires attended by langton hughes, w b de boyce himself, the poet county collen, duke ellington, and countless others.
