The first step for me was being in a positive environment, and to me what that means is not always physical. I have three televisions in my house, and the only time they turn on is if it's a I'm playing music, I'm playing a podcast. A podcast I add to my to my repertoire of physical health, working out and getting those serotonin's and those endorphins. All of these things were very much catalyst for getting me out of where I was and helping me to mature into to who I am today.
