David Wheeler: I reject the uniformity and determinacy assumption, which is that when people make moral claims they tend to be attempting to make the same moral claims as one another. In my own research, I've started to suspect that the reason why we get the kind of empirical results we get when we go out when we ask people questions about meta-ethics isn't because ofmeta-ethical pluralism.
