Why Did They Stub Over the Stone?

Paul is saying that they were so focused on righteousness in the law that they stumbled over the stone. He said, I'm putting it here so you can't miss it. It's right there in the middle of the path and yet they did. And we could ask the question, why? Why were they so myopically concentrating on the law and its demands that they missed Christ?"
