CHAPTER

The Impact of Altitude on Tennis

The altitude of Madrid is 657 meters which is the second highest capital city in Europe if anybody can name the highest above sea level then well there's no prize. The air is less dense the higher up you go physically fewer air particles which means less resistance for a ball to knock into as it travels through the air. Players string their rackets differently at high altitude and generally speaking they'll string more for control than power so that is my little GCSE bite size physics segment.
