Buprenorphine is being rolled out in public clinics in jails and prisons. It's no accident at the time sequence those of us who work in the area of quote unquote social determinants of health are working on it, says Dr Andrew Weldon. He argues that if you roll out a new healthcare technology without addressing those social inequalities you are going to widen rather than narrow the health disparities and inequalities. "People with means are going to have access to that new technology," he adds.
