Why Do We Live in a Disjointed Society?

We live in a really, really stressful and disjointed society. We have increased number of single parent families or two working parents. What about the kid who is great at art and not so good at math and reading? They're spending almost all their time at school and at home work doing math and reading,. which they're not good at, and not doing art that they are gedat. If i had to go to the school where i was doing art five and half hours a day, greeding half an hour? What would do that do to my stress level? To my feelings of compitence and worth self esteem? So really important.
