i grew up in the fifties and sixties in a very structured kind of religious experience. By when i went to college, i had left behind so much because i didn't have the courage, i guess, to really break out of these structures that had raised me. So it took, as i said earlier, the jackhammer. But i think that, well, i moved through epochs. I say, i kind of shed that skin slowly. And i can look back now, at this point in my life, and try to integrate all these things together. It's like you're a goldfish in a bowl, swimming in water you don't see for a long time
