Most dollars are in bank accounts where people get them and then spend them within two weeks to four weeks. There is not, in terms of the average bank account, the turnover of dollars within the average month is almost 100%. Yes, you do have a lot of money that sits there for a long time and doesn't move, but that is concentrated in the hands of very few people. Most Americans, if they got an unexpected expense, would not be able to pay it within two-to-four weeks.
