A lot of leaders' core values run pretty deep to, you know, formative childhood experiences. When someone is five minutes late on a report, that triggers primal trust issues in the leader and the leader will sort of overreact. And if they don't have a self-awareness on that, I found twice in these cases that they had a whole bunch of people in the penalty box that just weren't getting out.
