This was Jackie Kennedy's first campaign appearance since 1960. She had been pregnant during that election and kind of sequestered herself in Cape Cod House. The governor, in fact, wished the Kennedys hadn't come at all. He just hated the thought of a motorcade, I guess, all that publicity.
