Are European Banks at Risk?
I can't fathom the amount of institutions that have those on their balance sheets. I think they're setting up a facility to do that. Is the risk more contained than in 2008? Absolutely it is. 100%. In the middle of 2008, what European banks were doing and you can read it for example in 'Boomerang' by Michael Lewis. The main narrative to say that European banks are not at risk is European banks don't need to do mark to market.
