The Battle of Guchtstadt Deppen took place on June 6th, 1805. The Russians tried to attack the French with a multi-pronged offensive. They were spotted by Ney's light cavalry and one of their columns attacked too early. It was almost like a battle from the last phase of the campaign in reverse. One side trying to trap the enemy, but finding they lacked the mobility and communications to do so. This time it was the French who got to play the defender.
