There was an enormous amount of local knowledge about maritime transport in the monsoon agentso there was actually transferable scales in maritime scales required. So this indian ocean economy became a whole set of skills not only for these ports but also for people all over the world who traded with each other. And so that is quite a significant factor an oild and tend to be very central to the story that i tell,. precisely for those reasons, to day's global trading order that has so many in the west so worried is itself.
