Is Teaching a Good Idea?

When i first got to the uf c, i was struck by how mathematically demanding the requirements were in the economics major. So at a faculty meeting where we were going to vote on adding these extra mat classes, i asked why people thought this would be a good idea. And the answer i was given was, well, the economics major is too popular at the university of chicago and it's too much work for the department administrators.
