The Importance of John's Baptism
Jesus most certainly alludes to Ezekiel 36, 25 through 28 in his teaching to Nicodemus that you must be born again of water and spirit. Vos is making the point that this is an epoch inaugurating event. And as such, it heralds the transition from the old to the new covenant with such water imagery.
